April 14, 2019, 8:30pm at Constellation in Chicago, IL – “Centennial Commissioning Project” – This concert features the culminating performances of new theatrical works by Sarah Westwood (UK) and Manel Ribera Torres (Spain). Westwood’s, The Artist’s Kintsukuroi is an evocative reinterpretation of the Biblical Song of Solomon and Torres’ Triumphal Day presents scenes from Manuel Rodeiro’s novel Día Triunfal. Torres’ composition will be bookended with miniatures based upon the music of Stravinsky’s L’Histoire du soldat, reimagined and composed by Ted Hearne. The concert will also present a revival of composer Eliza Brown’s collaboration with poet Stephen Collis titled Thirteen Trees.
June 3, 2018, 8:30pm at Constellation in Chicago, IL – “Earthbound” – Eliza Brown’s Thirteen Trees collaboration with poet Stephen Collis receives its world premiere, plus a debut arrangement of Shakespeare and Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream acted & sung by Jenna Lyle, complemented by Pauline Oliveros’ meditative Earth Ears. $10 Admission.
